Have been on a treasure hunt this week, and found a few pieces that I thought you might like to see, before they get a makeover ...

An old magazine rack, that I've tried to sell unsuccessfully, so think it needs a revamp

A little cupboard that's feeling a bit sorry for itself ... I'm thinking Off White, distressed, and perhaps a bit of red and white dottiness, and a couple of white baskets? What d'ya think?

The Inside Story!

And my favourite piece at the moment ... an old battered, filthy dirty, wooden tea trolley. My heart skipped a beat when I noticed this prize, lying unloved amongst some metal tea trolleys.  I didn't hesitate, just snapped it up and hurried it home ...

When I got inside, I realised that the table top could be taken off and used as a tray, the sides open up to create a table, and inside there is a tray for cutlery.  Have got big ideas for this, but think it's a keeper as I can used it for displaying at the Vintage Fairs.

Will let you see, when they've been transformed.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend, and enjoy your extra day!

Love, Claire xxx

  4. Hi Ladies, hoping for a rain-free Bank Holiday, so we can get on with the transformations outside ... and I may pick up a few more goodies at a Car Boot Sale! My poor husband always looks anxious when I pull up outside after being at one ... it usually means he has to get the sandpaper out again ... have a great Bank Holiday Monday xxx

  9. Hello and thanks for your comment over at my blog! Lovely finds there, I love the little cupboard and think it would look great if you painted it white like you said. I have a few bits in the garage waiting to be painted and amd waiting for a nice day to drag some into the garden to start. (Garage too packed...!)
Glad to have found your blog, I like finding new ones to read!

  10. Hello Claire - thank you SO much for your lovely message on my blog. I am being slowly convinced that chickens definitely ARE the way forward for me - so thank you for your helpful input! I'm so glad that you found me, as it brought me to you fabulous blog! I LOVE your vintage finds, and I can't wait to see what you do with them. The cupboard in an earlier post of yours (with the floral lining) was fantastic. I have a habit of buying things like this at vintage sales, then planning to paint them and not doing anything! As you can probably guess - I have a problem with committing to things! Anyway, I'm off to search through your lovely blog to see if I can spot your backyard chickens. Thanks for finding me, and I look forward to finding out more about you! Paula x p.s. I think that you made absolutely the right choice with your bay windows - the new doors have opened up the room beautifully. x

  11. Thank you ladies, for your lovely comments ... I love finding new blogs too, and welcome to mine! xxx

  12. Tea trolleys are the best! I think mine's a keeper, too, as you say, they are great for display.

  13. Mine's going in my bathroom holding toiletries, when it's not earning its keep at vintage fairs. What a bargain yours was! Xx

  14. Wonderful project line up.
I have a very similar cupboard that I up cycled and it is now my TV cupboard. My TV is very little!
Can't wait to see the transformations. X

  15. Oh the wooden tea trolley is a treasure. Can't wait to see the transformation.

  16. Thanks for your lovely comments, hopefully will be able to get these painted this weekend ... weather permitting! Enjoy your weekend, Claire xxx

I love to hear what you think of my ramblings and value all your comments ... I will try and get back to you, but am sorry if I don't always manage this ... sometimes real life just gets in the way! Claire xxx
