Good morning my lovelies! My house looks like a furniture warehouse (this place is like Ozzie Wood's ... as my Mam used to say) ... with pieces waiting to be magically transformed for my own event. Ooh, I'm excited. but there's a lot of work to be done. I've consulted the long-term weather forecast and hopefully it's going to be a nice weekend ... sunshine would be wonderful, but as long as it's not raining it will be fine.
I trial-runned this sale last year, and it was the hottest, sunniest day of the year ... this year I'm going to do the whole weekend, so need loads of stock. When I go to fairs, I'm obviously limited by how far away the venue is, and what I can fit in my car, but by doing this I can sell larger items, such as dressers, wardrobes and dressing tables, etc. (I just hope that I sell them, I dread to think where they will go, if not!)
So if you've got a couple of hours free and don't live too far away, it would be absolutely wonderful to meet you!
I'm trying to catch up with all your posts, by looking at ten a day ... the trouble is, more keep appearing!
Well, I'll love you and leave you, as my paintbrush is calling me ... (I have a fair this weekend too), and I hope you all have a wonderful week and that the sun shines on you ...
Much love, Claire xxx
PS: I've spelt Dotty's name wrong on the flyer ... I can't change it as Steve had to set up pjf, or jpd's or something or other, and I daren't ask him to do it all again!
Lots and lots of luck hosting this, I'll keep fingers crossed for good weather. I'm struggling to keep up with blog reading too, I read 5 and then 7 new posts appear!
ReplyDeleteOh how much I wish I lived closer.... I would so love to come along and forage for treasures, and meet Dotty ...and you too, of course ;-)
ReplyDeleteHave fun getting everything prepped, and hope the sun stays out for you.
Hugs xx
Wow Claire I hope Angie and I are free to pop over to see Dotty (and you!).
ReplyDeleteI will see you before then at Urswick, but a trip to Dotty Towers would be amazing, can't wait!
I did laugh at Ozzie Wood, that's brought back some great memories. Last week my Daughter Eve's boyfriend put a video on my PC of Dalton Rd in the 1970's....omg it was fantastic and I spent the whole time going....Oh it's...Oh it's and I just loved it, you do forget about things like Z Brothers!!
See you at the weekend.
Love DebbsX
So wish I could visit. Hope it all goes really well for you!
ReplyDeleteIf I lived close enough I would definitely be stopping by, shame that I don't and therefore can't! I hope that it goes really well for you though and that the wardrobes and so on all sell really well. xx
ReplyDeleteA pity you are so far away, I hope it goes well for you though.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Claire.. how i wished I lived closer to you! I badly need some storage for the new house and who better than from the upcycle Queen Bee herself!! I may possible inundate you with Annie Sloane question instead :D Hazel x
ReplyDeleteI'd love to pay you a visit but sadly we're too far from you. I do hope it goes really well though and hope you sell sell sell! Hope to see some pics soon! xx
ReplyDeleteLove the flyer!! I would love to meet Dotty/Dottie too, and am sorry we're divided by a small ocean. I kind of like "Dottie", it makes her sound silly and fun ;) Don't forget to run out with your camera and snap lots of photos before everything is whisked off to new homes Claire. That's the first thing you do, okay? I'm sure you're going to have lots of success, and I hope Dottie is going to help out with your displays. Have fun on the weekend! Wendy xox
ReplyDeleteHello I hope the weather is good to you. Next year give me lots of warning and I might just make it. Not sure where you are but the in-laws live in LA9 which can't be too far away. xxx
ReplyDeletewow you have been and are going to be busy for the next couple of weeks then!!!! like everyone else i wish i lived closer BUT then maybe it's a good thing i don't - i just know i would fall in love with everything and then we would be having the problem of where to put everything!! i hope the weather is good and at least dry for you and that you sell out so that you can have a few weeks rest after!! xx

Hope your weekend goes well. You always get good weather - can we get advance notice so we can book our holidays next year, please?? It's so hot here, we're just back from Wales by the seaside where it was sunny but with that wonderful sea breeze keeping everything comfortable. Winchester is seriously steamy! Have fun with your paintbrush - let us all know how it goes.
