Adding twinkly little lights to my shelves (isn't Poundland fabulous?) ...
and making little lacy lanterns ...
the shadows these create are really atmospheric ... and so simple to achieve!
The big event of last week was, of course, Halloween ... the worst night of the year, weather-wise, for little witches, wizards and hobgoblins to be leaving their calling card ...
We only had two visits this year ...
Would have been a shame to waste this little lot ...
Even Rooby-doo joined in the fun ... #notimpressed ...
and Millie made an impressive 11th Doctor ...
We've been tidying the garden, ready for its long winter sleep ...
planting bright flowers to cheer up dark corners ...
and making newly found treasures feel right at home ...
Getting ready for the big event of the year ...
If you get the chance, please do pay us a visit! Me and Millie will be there, along with lots of other stallholders, selling the most amazing true vintage items ... and lots of lovely craftiness too!
Would like to share a little before ... (boy, this was so dirty it made the dog sneeze!)
and an amazing after! Thank you Kath for your upholstery help, I couldn't have done it without you!
and if all that isn't enough, I've won a lovely Giveaway on Instagram which will really get me in the Christmas mood ... thank you @ainttooshabbydevon, I'm really looking forward to this lovely parcel!
Next Sunday is Remembrance Day, so I'd just like to leave this verse for you ...
WE MUST NEVER FORGET
Looking forward to catching up with you all ... what have you been up to?
With love, from Claire xxx
Hey Claire, sounds like a busy week! Nice to hunker down when the weather is cold and yucky though. Looks as though you have some halloween chocolate to work your way through this week, that has to be a good thing. Hope that your vintage fair goes well. xx
ReplyDeleteHi Amy ... I'm afraid chocolate doesn't last long here! Thanks for popping in lovely, you're always welcome xxx
DeleteYour before and after chair is fabulous Poundland seem to have different things in different branches - I am currently hoping they might stock garden toadstools but no luck so far - the fairy lights aren't in my branch yet but will look out - we got great outdoor ones with a timer for our living tree for Christmas for £10 a rope - on EBay what luck.
ReplyDeleteHi Betty, those lights were last years but I'm sure they'll have something similar ... they're battery operated, so perfect for cupboards!
DeleteThanks for your lovely comment about the chair, I am really pleased with it!
Off to check out Ebay now ... need a rope of outdoor lights for my bike!

Deletewe didn't get any trick or treaters this year, I live on a dead end road and there are no children of that age so its all quiet :)
ReplyDeleteHello Claire, in a way that's good, if you're not expecting any you don't have to prepare for them ... if you are expecting them and have prepared and then have to eat it all yourself ....

DeleteLove Claire xx
Hi Claire! I think we are all feeling the need to hanker down and cosy up.....it's a lovely time of year, if you can cope with the lack of sunlight. Your chair transformation is beautiful. So only 2 Halloween visitors? My man stood guard at the front door in a scary mad hatter get up, and banged on the door with an axe for me to open it to trick or treat visitors, and has left great big bloody dents in it, so the 20 visitors we had are each recorded in my front door! X have a great week
ReplyDeleteHaha, I bet you wish you'd only had 2 visitors Jo! I bet the children were terrified ...
DeleteAnd your poor door!
