Oh, to be in England, now that April's there

Sorry I haven't been in touch for a while, but have been A Bit Under the Weather, but fully recovered now, and also have had the window men in for a week, so house has been in disarray, clutter everywhere, and no organisation ... my OCD tendencies have been stressed to the max!

April started with beautiful weather (what's happened to it?) and I took the opportunity to explore corners of my little island

In a couple of weeks I'll return to the duckpond, and hopefully there will be lots of little ducklings milling about ...

New life, everywhere you look ...

The view from my window, which I never tire of as there's always something going on, mallards quacking about, a pair of heron's who return every year, the change in the tide and the weather (fantastic view whenever there's a storm brewing) ...

And we've had a celebration in the family - my lovely niece Daisy turned 18 this week and we celebrated en famille with a meal in a local restaurant

I was there when she was born, how those years have flown by, and she's grown into a lovely young lady.  I was honoured to make the cupcakes for her birthday, and here's a little pic of the birthday girl and my creations

I made about 60 cakes in all, as she had friends round later, so me and my little sis spent a busy 4 hours on the production line

Have got diy jobs to do this weekend with Steve, as now new windows are in, the rooms are looking shabby, and don't know whether it's just me, but I hate shiny new things, and the windows need to be made to blend in.  Will show you the before and after pictures, when it's all done.  Been to Homebase and stocked up on Farrow and Ball paint as it's 15% off this weekend (we are called Thriftwood, after all), so going to be busy!

Make sure you eat lots of Easter Eggs, and whatever you're doing this weekend, have a Happy Easter
